HALC tutor bots are AI-powered learning assistants designed by Hostos tutors using CUNY Copilot. Each bot reflects the creator’s tutoring style and subject expertise, offering personalized guidance grounded in proven instructional methods. They help students reason through problems using Socratic questioning, visualize ideas through Concrete–Representational–Abstract (CRA) scaffolds, and deepen understanding through error analysis and guided reflection.
These bots are not meant to replace human tutoring—they extend it. Each one was built to mirror the kind of thoughtful, inquiry-based support that happens in real HALC sessions.
Access note: CUNY login is required to use CUNY Copilot. Students and tutors sign in with their CUNY credentials, and all conversations remain private within the secure CUNY Microsoft 365 environment, fully compliant with FERPA and institutional data policies.
